On one hand, I want the trollsprites to go back to being dead trolls and then to get resurrected…on the other hand, Arquius is perfect.

TURNS out two heads really are better than one. Two people have successfully steered a virtual spacecraft by combining the power of their thoughts - and their efforts were far more accurate than one person acting alone. One day groups of people hooked up to brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) might work together to control complex robotic and telepresence systems, maybe even in space.

Mind-meld brain power is best for steering spaceships - tech - 01 February 2013 - New Scientist

goodbye homestuck

As perturbed as I am that wtnv isn't refunding my money, that wasn't the whole point of me attending dashcon. Dashcon meant meeting long lost friends and wtnv was just icing on the cake as it was to all of us who attended... So hey, I'm happy either way. Dear Anon, how hard was it to get wifi underneath that bridge of yours?

WTNV isn’t refunding any money because they had nothing to do with the Dashcon tickets. Dashcon sold those tickets; WTNV never got paid anything from Dashcon, that is why they walked. Dashcon has your money, not WTNV.

I have to wonder who it was, too.  Like, I have a bunch of followers who I never interact with, maybe it was one of them?

I’m not upset or anything by it, I’m just really curious, you know???

It does suck that they’re not able to refund you, though.  :/

Hooray for finally hearing some real information!  Not surprised they had to wait for legal to give the go-ahead.  Has anyone heard anything from WtNV on this?  I assume they’re waiting for legal, too, I don’t doubt DashCon’s word, but it’d be nice to have corroboration.

They released a statement way before Dashcon released a statement: http://happierman.tumblr.com/post/91567505339/apologies-to-fans-in-northern-illinois

The single most delightful implication of Dashcon is that now somebody is going to inevitably have to explain to a lawyer, probably several lawyers, and in turn, possibly an entire courtroom, what fandom is, what tumblr is, and all the ins and outs related to them.

i would watch that episode of law and order

antitheticalstrings:

I’m kind of amused that in Bioshock, for all his hard work to try and create a Randian objectivist hellhole paradise, Andrew Ryan wasn’t very good at upholding those principles when they inconvenienced him even a little bit

So Andrew Ryan was just like his real-life counterpart who despite all her talks about the “evils of social welfare” was perfectly happy to receive social welfare herself.

The joke is that Objectivism is terrible. Also that isn’t so much a “joke” as it is a fact.
